Superhero We WILD CHILD Festival 2018!

Description

Ground-up inclusive arts movement Superhero Me will programme an inclusive arts festival at the Enabling Village from 5 – 17 March 2018. Themed “WILD CHILD”, we inspire to empower children to realise their potential and remove the fear of those different from them by inviting schools and families with children of different needs to mingle and play together through facilitated experience.

Highlights include:

  1. A wide range of art, craft, music and dance workshops for the public designed to foster inclusion on 10 and 17 March 2018

  2. An inclusive arts camp from 12 to 14 March, 10am – 1pm daily, where 30 children spend three half-days working in teams with those of different abilities. (SIGN UP HERE: https://superherowecamp2018.peatix.com)

Free play areas open all day on 10 & 17 March 2018 (11am – 6pm) & from 12 – 16 March 2018 from 130pm – 430pm. They include:

  • WILD Dance Island: A fairy-lit ‘stage’ where programmes will be held.

  • Maze to Dinner: A tunnel of tents featuring stories by children from Kindle Garden, Singapore's first inclusive preschool, where children can colour.

  • Obstacle Octopus: A play space in a sheltered area outdoors that children can crawl around a wheelchair-accessible wooden creature obstacle course.

  • Village Square: On a grass square, children craft an item that signifies their role in our tribe.

Opening Hours for Public:

  • 10, 17 March (Saturdays) 11am – 6pm : Free play + All day programmes

  • 12 – 16 March (Mon - Fri) 130pm – 430pm: Opened to public only from 130pm onwards as we are running a camp for selected participants from 10am – 1pm

In this workshop, we aim to build a group sense among the children through fun solo, pair and group dance exercises.
